ABOUT US

BALABITE

From Hebrew בַּעַל הַבַּיִת‎ (bá'al habáyit, “master of the house”). Cognate with Ladino balabay (“master of the house”).

BALABITE is a play on words, sounding like the joining of two words BA’AL HABIYIT, which in Hebrew בַּעַל הַבַּיִת, means owner of the house, proprietor, storekeeper. However when it is pronounced Balabayit it in fact means the person in charge at that specific moment, the one who has the last word.

For us, BALABITE means to take a bite from Israeli street food. To take a bite from authentic food. Food that conjures happiness, is comforting and doesn’t require any special formalities.

At BALABITE you can find cooked and grilled food, koftas, special salads, and above all else, the mouthwatering smell of aromatics spices.

BALABITE invites you to eat well with a mosaic of flavours.
